-- SRI KRISHNA KARNAMRUTHAM is a beautiful composition of 328 verses describing leelas (past times) of Lord Sri Krishna. This develops prema bhakthi in the heart of devotees.
Sri Krishna Karnamrutham was composed by Sri Leela Sukar also known as Sri Vilwamangala Swamigal. This is a Madhura Kavyam (loving childhood pastimes are described beautifully as small poems of poetic excellence.) on Lord Sri Krishna describing his childhood leelas as a baby, child and boy. Like Sri Sukha brahmam who described Sri Krishna leelas in Srimad Bhagavatham, Sri Vilwamangala Swamigal composed Sri Krishna leelas in Sri Krishna Karnamrutham and hence dearly called as Sri Leela Sukhar. Sri Vilwamangalthu Swamigal lived in Kerala and is believed to be a great scholar who was a great devotee of Guruvayurappan, the Lord of Guruvayur. It seems the child Krishna used to come whenever He was called by the Swamigal. It is also believed that Lord Krishna used to shake his head as a sign of approval for the slokas of this great work(Sri Krishna Karnamrutham) that He approved. Sri Vilwamangalam Swamigal used to reject all those sloka that did not get approval of the Sri Guruvayurappan. On the days when He did not approve any of the slokas, it seems the Swamigal used to starve with taking any food or water or liquid intake. This composition describes the outpouring love for Sri Guruvayurappan. The composition is bewitching beauty. Listening to it or studying it or reciting it develops deep prema bhakthi in the heart of devotees. Please join us in this journey to learn to about Sri Krishna Karnamrutham.
